Dates and Reminders for 2022 Season

Hi WCE Football Family!

I hope you are all enjoying your summer!
Thank you all for your generosity in our collection of school supplies for Home of the Sparrow! Coach will go shopping with some of the players this week and deliver the supplies!
Hope your boys enjoyed the Downingtown East camp – it sure was a hot one!

I just wanted to send out some reminders as we are coming down the home stretch before mandatory practices begin!
Mandatory practices start August 8th for 10-12th grade and August 15th for freshmen.

Reminders:
Registration – All players must be registered on BOTH the WCE football website at http://www.wceastfootball.com/forms/11440-Player-Registration AND on Family ID at https://hello.familyid.com/
Booster Dues – All players need to pay the WCE Booster fee of $175 payable by check made to WCE Football Boosters or Venmo @WCEFootball. This fee must be paid for the players to get their compression shirt which they will need for mandatory practices and pregame warmups.
PIAA Physicals – All players MUST have a PIAA Physical dated after June 1st and loaded into your Family ID account by August 7th (10-12th graders) and August 14th (9th graders).

*Players will NOT be permitted to participate without the PIAA physical on file in your Family ID account – no paper copies!*

New Items:
Parent Shout Outs – Parents can submit a picture and a special wish to their player to be printed in the Game Program for $20 for the season (samples attached). We will need all submissions (picture and message) texted to Jamie Hart at 484-885-4169 by August 5th along with your payment (check made out to WCE Football Boosters or Venmo @WCEFootball).
Family Tailgate – August 20th after the Scrimmage – Keep an eye out for the Sign Up Genius for this great event!
Team Dinners – keep an eye out for a Sign Up Genius for Team Dinner items (pasta, salad, bread, desserts, etc) These are generally the Thursdays before home games. Our first one is August 25th.
Snap Raise Online Fundraiser – we did this last season so for most it’s an easy set up. Players will load email addresses into their account and ask for donations for the team. Specific details to follow.

Dates to keep in mind:
August 3rd – Business Sponsorships Due – please remind anyone that verbally committed to send in payment and ad/banner logo!
August 5th – Parent “Shout Outs” for game programs due

August 8th – Heat Week – Mandatory Practices Begin!
August 9th – Picture Day 3:00pm in full game uniforms (all grades)
August 12th – Team Bowling Night – all grades! Details to follow.
August 15th – Freshman Practice Starts – Double Practices start (grade 10-12)
August 20th – Scrimmage 10am at Strath Haven High School
August 20th – Family Tailgate (details to follow in separate email) immediately after the scrimmage (approximately noon)
August 25th – First Team Dinner – details TBD
August 26th – FIRST GAME!
